Remote Learning Provision
Our remote teaching and learning provision continues via Google Classroom and students should follow their normal timetables from home. This webpage sets out some information on our online learning provision. You can view a video explaining the provision here.
Live teaching will form parts of lessons for periods 1-4 (as appropriate for the subject/lesson) with work made available for period 5 on Google Classroom for Years 7-10. Year 11 students will have some live elements during p1-5 as appropriate to the subject/lesson. As in the first lockdown, the Learning Support Google Classroom will also remain open for students who require extra help and support. Details of the changes to the school day can be found here.
All students should already be registered in their Google Classrooms; however, for students who may have recently started with us, or students who have moved classrooms, Google Classroom codes are available here.
Students should ensure that they are logged on to their form group Google Classroom at 9am every day for morning registration before then accessing their period 1 lesson via the relevant Google Classroom and then following their normal timetable for their usual lesson times. We return on Week 2 of the school timetable.
Live lessons will not be one hour lecture style instruction - we will be following our usual classroom practices as much as it is possible to do so online with students undertaking a variety of learning tasks and working collaboratively, independently, or under the direction of their teacher. This could involve students undertaking class discussions, low stakes testing, or perhaps being introduced to a concept or topic for the first part of a lesson; work may then be set for students to complete with the teacher being available online for help for the duration of the lesson.
Our statutory remote learning guidance is below.
