Covid 19 Information
On Friday 8th October the school hosted Covid 19 Vaccinations for students between the ages of 12 and 15 years of age. We are waiting to hear from the Community Nursing Team for details of any catch-up sessions. In the meantime they can be contacted on 0300 555 5055.
Positive Covid-19 Cases - update
We have recently seen a further rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in school. As a result we have been working with the Local Authority to ensure we have adequate measures in place to control the spread of the virus. We have been advised to maintain the measures introduced recently that are outlined below.
Visitors to the school siteWe have been asked to limit visitors and we would therefore ask that you only visit school if you have an appointment.
Facial coverings are required during lesson transitions and at times when social distancing is difficult to maintain, for example when queueing in the Canteen or for the Snackshack. Please ensure that your child attends school with an appropriate facial covering.
Staff are also required to wear facial coverings at these times, but also when circulating amongst students during lessons.
Students are required to wear facial coverings when travelling on all school buses.
Hygiene and Cleaning
Students are being reminded to sanitise their hands regularly and we are continuing with our enhanced cleaning procedures.
All assemblies are now conducted via Google Meet.
In year groups where there are higher levels of infection, we have asked parents of all students in the year group to book a PCR test for their children.
Please be prepared to book a PCR test for your child if requested. We have been informed that testing capacity is good in the local area and tests are being returned quickly.
We will continue to review these measures with the Local Authority and will advise of any further measures or relaxation of measures as necessary. Whilst we appreciate that this may cause some concern, we would like to reassure you that we are following all guidelines and additional advice closely. A significant number of schools in Suffolk (over 30) have reported outbreaks of the virus, so this is not unique to EBHS and we continue to do all we can to keep everyone safe.
